Canadiana Victoria, 2013
(Sterling silver, fine silver, amethyst, cobaltite, Canadian Diamond, petrified beaver scat, enamel, resin, paint, and patina.
Opine was a juried national exhibition hosted at OCAD University in conjunction with the Society of North American Goldsmiths(SNAG) national conference. We were meant to proclaim a definitive perspective about Canadian Culture. My piece looks at our natural resources as they relate directly to jewellery making such as the Victor diamond which are mined in Northern Ontario and cut in Sudbury.
(Sterling silver, chlorite, blue topaz, pearl, silk, patina)
This piece was created for a curated exhibtion that was planned at the Norman Felix Gallery in Toronto. The idea behind the show and the piece was to use alternative materials in contemporary jewellery. I used recycled anodized aluminum from the pods of my coffee machine as well as handcut chlorite beads, freshwater pearls and cast pieces of cacti that I scavenged in Arizona.
This was another custom ring for a special customer. It really brings me pleasure for my work to become part of people's lives and celebrations.
This was a custom family ring that I fabricated. Each stone represents the birthstones of the family members. I recently had the pleasure of adding a new stone to celebrate the birth of a new child! Its amazing to be part of something so special.
